Για τους σκοπούς του μαθήματος, μελετώντας το επιστημονικό άρθρο Tinmaz, H., Lee, YT., Fanea-Ivanovici, M. et al. A systematic review on digital literacy. Smart Learn. Environ. 9, 21 (2022), τα σημεία που συγκράτησα είναι:

Digital literacy has gained increasing scholarly attention, yet its definitions remain broad and overlapping. Most literature converges on four core dimensions: digital literacies, competencies, skills, and thinking.

Digital literacies involve cognitive and behavioral capabilities for navigating digital environments. Eshet-Alkalai (2012) proposed six key modes of thinking, while Heitin (2016) emphasized practical tasks like finding, creating, and sharing digital content.

Digital competencies, as formalized in the EU’s DigComp 2.1 framework, cover five areas: information and data literacy, communication, content creation, safety, and problem solving (Carretero et al., 2017).

Digital skills are categorized into technological, cognitive, and social domains (Ng, 2012), with further refinement by Van Deursen and Van Dijk into operational, strategic, and creative internet skills. Van Laar et al. (2017) highlight seven essential skill sets, including collaboration and critical thinking.

Digital thinking includes critical and analytical thinking, innovation, and awareness of digital risks like misinformation and cybersecurity—especially crucial in times of crisis (e.g., COVID-19).

Using a systematic literature review of 43 academic papers across five major databases, the study found a rising trend in digital literacy research post-2013, mostly using qualitative methods. Thematic overlap—such as creativity being both a skill and a competency—underscores the interconnected nature of digital literacy.

Conclusion: Digital literacy is a complex, evolving construct. Flexible, updated frameworks are essential to meet the needs of diverse users and rapidly changing technologies in education and society.
